KeloLand Living with Mitchell & Ashley

I had the pleasure to be invited to Keloland Living to share a little watercolor. Watch it by clicking HERE.

On-set, we created the frosty technique of sprinkling salt on wet watercolor washes. Here is a close-up of what we did.
The effect is always wonderfully dramatic! Use plenty of pigment in a wet wash for best results. Try this with other porous options like rice, or crinkled papers, similar to the video below, where we used plastic wrap.

On April 16 or 17, 2024 I will have REAL H2O watercolor, a class to create lifelike images. Realism with watercolor is possible. Learn how to layer and control this medium for portraits, still life, and cartoons for full and believable depth. See the link to this Community Ed class HERE. SNOW Equals CABIN FEVER Equals Painting!

January 11 begins my CABIN FEVER PAINTING series. Several past painting participants showed more than the usual amount of bring it in lovin’ on the medium, so we’re letting it ride. There are a few open spots for the painter in you wanting to dabble in oil, work a little looser—the you that wants to dare a little deeper artistically. We will be playing the Beatles, Chopin, and Chasing Dragons to suitably move you.
